GNSS Signals Are Vulnerable

Modern electronic warfare environments assume persistent GNSS interference as a baseline condition.

Kopplung Systems develops EW-ready GNSS protection solutions that ensure reliable Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) under jamming and interference, without relying on legacy single-band or static architectures.

Our approach combines wideband spectral awareness, digital precision suppression, and scalable CRPA architectures to address today’s and tomorrow’s EW threat landscape.

Wideband Awarness with Precision Suppression

Wideband capture. Narrowband precision. 62.5 MHz of GNSS resilience.

At the core of Kopplung’s EW GNSS protection is a 62.5 MHz instantaneous bandwidth architecture that enables simultaneous visibility of the most critical GNSS bands. By capturing a wide GNSS spectrum in a single pass and processing it directly in the digital domain, the system can react rapidly to interference while maintaining high signal fidelity.

Unlike legacy narrowband anti-jam systems, this approach provides both spectral awareness and precise interference mitigation in real time.

Simultaneous Multi-Band GNSS Protection

Kopplung EW solutions are designed to simultaneously protect L1, L2, and L5 GNSS signals across all major constellations, including GPS, Galileo, and BeiDou.

The architecture groups GNSS bands efficiently within the available instantaneous bandwidth, enabling concurrent protection without RF band switching or complex front-end duplication. This ensures robust navigation continuity even when individual bands are targeted by jammers.

Digital-First Anti-Jamming Architecture

Kopplung systems employ a direct-conversion sampling architecture, bringing the captured GNSS spectrum directly into the digital processing domain. This enables:

  • Adaptive digital filtering for narrowband and structured jammers
  • Precise suppression of multi-tone and swept interference
  • High dynamic range operation without excessive RF complexity

By performing interference mitigation digitally, the system preserves GNSS signal integrity while remaining flexible against evolving jammer techniques.

Optional Threat Awareness & EW Integration

(Configuration-dependent)
Beyond core GNSS protection, Kopplung EW solutions can be extended with optional capabilities to support higher-level EW operations:

  • Jammer Direction Indication (AoA) for situational awareness and threat localisation.
  • Interference classification to distinguish jammer types and behaviours
  • Threat reporting and event logging for post-mission analysis
  • Mission system and EW suite interfaces for coordinated response.

These capabilities transform GNSS protection from a passive defence into an active contributor to the EW picture.

SPECTRA Kopplung's Advanced Anti-Jamming GPS/GNSS Protection

Features & Benefits

62.5 MHz instantaneous bandwidth

The SPECTRA architecture captures a wide GNSS spectrum in a single pass, providing real-time awareness of interference activity across the most critical navigation bands. This wideband visibility enables fast detection and effective response to jamming threats.

L1, L2, and L5 protected concurrently

SPECTRA systems simultaneously protect L1, L2, and L5 GNSS signals across all major constellations without RF band switching. This ensures continuous navigation even when individual bands are selectively targeted.

Adaptive filtering in the digital domain

By combining direct-conversion sampling with adaptive digital filtering, SPECTRA precisely suppresses narrowband and structured jammers while preserving GNSS signal integrity. This digital-first approach delivers high suppression performance without excessive RF complexity.

>50 dB Suppression Performance

SPECTRA delivers high suppression performance against narrowband and structured jammers through a combination of spatial processing and precision digital filtering. The architecture is designed to reduce interference at the receiver input under realistic operational conditions, not just in laboratory scenarios.
